The condensed version (if you don’t like to read): Tubegeeks is the ultimate resource for all things YouTube, from news to fun viral videos, helpful guides and more.

Hi there, I’m Megan.  I’ve been covering the online video industry for about 2 years now–writing about everything from breaking news to interesting online video campaigns, viral YouTube sensations and more, but ya know what? I’m ready to take things to the next level. I don’t want to just write about the online video industry, I want to be a part of it.  So with that in mind…heeere’s Tubegeeks (said like “Here’s Johnny” from The Shining, only less creepily)!

I’d like Tubegeeks to be the ultimate destination for anything and everything YouTube, from news to fun viral videos, interviews with YouTube Partners and more.  But I’d also like Tubegeeks to be an opportunity for me to dive head first into the world of online video as a creator, and to share my experience with you every step of the way.

I should point out that I’m not entirely new to online video creation.  I have a degree in video production from Emerson College (Go Lions!), a YouTube channel where I have been uploading random stop motion animations and videos of my dog for the past few years, and a weird video that I made of a talking toilet has somehow been viewed over 65,000 times.  But I’ve never produced regular content, put the effort into promoting my videos or building a YouTube subscriber base, or tried to make a name for myself as a creator.

So here’s how it’s going to work: Armed with all the research I’ve done on YouTube and the online video industry over the past two years, I am going to start a brand new YouTube channel from scratch and document every step of the process by writing guides based on my experience.  I’ll cover everything from setting goals for your YouTube channel to creating and scheduling content, promoting yourself, building a subscriber base and more.  There’ll be lots of experimenting, lots of advice from successful YouTube Partners and, most importantly, lots of fun!

As I mentioned before, Tubegeeks will also be a place for you to stay up-to-date on all the latest YouTube news and viral videos (funny, cute, WTF, you name it!), and I’d like your input as well.  If you have any ideas or suggestions for content you’d like to see, please let me know in the comments below or shoot me an email at megan@tubegeeks.com.  I’m so excited to start this journey and I hope you’ll come along for the ride!
