Back in March, YouTube launched YouTube Next Vlogger 2013–a competition to find a group of vloggers to participate in the Next Vlogger program and to collaborate on videos with other passionate vloggers from around the world. Today the fifteen winning vloggers have been announced.
Matthew Yeager writes on the YouTube blog, “From the vast number of applications, we are pleased to announce the fifteen winners, who will all receive a Google+ Hangout workshop series from industry experts and YouTube staff about best practices in developing long-lasting channels on YouTube, $4,000 worth of production equipment, and a unique opportunity to collaborate with other creators across the globe.”
The collection of fifteen vloggers hail from all corners of the globe, with vloggers from the UK, Australia, and the United States represented. Many of them boast tens of thousands of subscribers and millions of video views.
But what makes them unique, is that they all seem to have overcome major obstacles in order to create YouTube videos, or thanks to their vlogging–from dealing with insecurities through the support of their viewers to facing medical conditions and more. It should be pointed out that when YouTube launched the competition, they asked vloggers to talk about their struggles and victories and, as a result, they’ve put together what looks like quite an inspiring group.
